Swedish fintech firm Klarna halts US IPO plans
Swedish fintech company Klarna has reportedly paused its plans for a US IPO due to market volatility. The turbulence was triggered by new US trade tariffs, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The decision comes after former President Donald Trump announced a 10% universal tariff on US imports, effective Apr. 5.
The announcement has unsettled markets and pushed the Nasdaq Composite index toward a bear market.
Klarna has not yet commented on the situation.
The company’s halted IPO plans were first reported by the Wall Street Journal.
