Swedish AI health firm Tandem bags $50m series A

Tandem Health has secured US$50 million in series A funding to enhance its AI-native operating system for clinical workflows in Europe.

The round was led by Kinnevik, with support from Northzone, Amino Collective, and Visionaries Club.

Tandem’s AI assistant is used by clinicians to create clinical notes during consultations, reducing the need for manual typing.

In the UK, over 200,000 NHS professionals have access to the technology through a partnership with Accurx.

With the new funding, Tandem Health plans to expand its platform to support more clinical tasks. These include capturing clinical codes, coordinating care, and aiding decision-making.

The company operates in several European countries, including the UK, Germany, France, and Spain.

Founded in the Nordics, Tandem collaborates with healthcare organizations to adapt its solutions and aims to reduce administrative burdens so clinicians can focus on patient care.

Tandem’s focus on AI-assisted clinical documentation aligns with a critical healthcare challenge identified by industry analysts.

Healthcare professionals report losing significant clinical time due to administrative tasks, with 76% specifically citing incomplete patient data as a time drain 1.

This administrative burden contributes to the global healthcare automation market now valued at over $40 billion with a projected 6% growth rate, as organizations seek solutions to improve efficiency 2.

Tandem is entering a competitive but rapidly expanding space, with companies like Augmedix also offering AI-powered documentation tools for clinicians and AWS developing HealthScribe for generating clinical notes 3, 4.

The market validation is clear: AI for notetaking is identified as one of the top emerging healthcare technologies in 2025, signaling strong demand for solutions that address this specific pain point 5.
