Surveillance firm Flock Safety nets $275m led by A16z
Atlanta-based surveillance technology company Flock Safety has raised US$275 million in a funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz, valuing the company at US$7.5 billion.
Investors include Greenoaks Capital and Bedrock Capital. With this round, its total funding has surpassed US$950 million.
The company plans to develop US-manufactured drones by 2025 and build a 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Georgia.
Flock Safety works with over 4,800 law enforcement agencies and nearly 1,000 businesses, with enterprise clients making up 30% of its revenue.
Annual recurring revenue has exceeded US$300 million, a 70% increase from last year.
The company recently appointed Brandon Simins as chief financial officer, signaling preparations for a potential public listing, though no timeline has been set.
