Superbank to finance 200 EVs for GrabCar Plus Electric

Superbank, an Indonesia-based digital bank backed by Grab, Emtek, Singtel, KakaoBank, and GXS, said on September 28 it will finance 200 electric vehicles for GrabCar Plus Electric in Indonesia.

Grab will manage the vehicles and offer them to driver-partners through a rental scheme.

The agreement adds to Grab’s electric vehicle rollout in Indonesia.

The company has said it plans to bring 1,000 EVs into its local fleet by year-end, making this batch part of a wider rollout.

It also expands Superbank’s role in Grab’s ecosystem after Grab said it would consolidate the lender.

Superbank had earlier said it was working to support drivers in Grab’s network.

The companies said the program could expand if demand rises.

Superbank said the initiative aligns with Indonesia’s target of 2 million electric cars and 13 million electric two-wheelers by 2030.
