Super Micro beats estimates on AI server demand
Super Micro Computer said preliminary unaudited revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 rose to US$11.1 billion from US$5.8 billion a year earlier.
Net income increased to US$1.178 billion from US$195 million.
For the year, revenue climbed to US$39.1 billion from US$22.0 billion and net income rose to US$2.2 billion from US$1.0 billion.
The growth was supported by demand for AI infrastructure, which boosted sales of GPU-heavy servers and rack-scale systems.
It forecast first-quarter 2027 revenue of US$14.5 billion to US$15.5 billion and full-year sales of US$65.0 billion to US$72.0 billion.
Those ranges were about 24%-33% and 19%-32% above consensus, respectively.
Super Micro ended June with US$7.5 billion in cash and cash equivalents and US$8.7 billion in bank debt and convertible notes.
It said its board is conducting an independent review of transactions tied to export-control issues that could affect its forecasts, preliminary results, and prior-period results.
The review follows a 2024 special committee probe into export-control matters and a March 2026 case in the US alleging three individuals, including co-founder Yih-Shyan “Wally” Liaw, diverted US$2.5 billion of Nvidia-based servers to China.
Super Micro said it was not a defendant and was cooperating.
