Supabase secures $500m as AI coding demand grows
Supabase, a Singapore-based startup that provides Postgres-based back-end tools for developers, said on June 4 that it raised US$500 million at a US$10.5 billion valuation.
GIC led the round, which also included Accel, Y Combinator, Craft, Felicis, Coatue, and Stripe.
The valuation comes about eight months after Supabase raised US$100 million at a US$5 billion pre-money valuation in October 2025, showing how quickly investors have revalued AI infrastructure companies.
CEO Paul Copplestone said AI coding tools such as Anthropic’s Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex now account for most databases created on Supabase.
Claude Code was the largest contributor in 2026. Sacra estimated that Supabase reached US$70 million in annual recurring revenue in August 2025.
Supabase said it now has more than 250,000 customers and 350 employees, up from more than 100,000 customers reported in late 2025.
The company also previewed Multigres, an open-source proxy and scaling system for Postgres designed to support sharding and high availability.
The tool could help Supabase move toward larger customers and compete with bigger database providers.
