Supabase raises $150m, acquires database startup Turso

Supabase, a Singapore and US-based developer platform for building applications on Postgres, said on October 3 that it is raising US$150 million in a funding round led by GIC and acquiring database startup Turso, as AI-driven tools use its platform more.

CapitalG, IronArc Ventures, and Square Peg are taking part in the financing.

Turso, a database company built around SQLite, will join Supabase through the acquisition, and Turso co-founder Glauber Costa will become Supabase’s head of agentic services.

Supabase said it is adding more than 1 million users and nearly 5 million databases each month. It added that about 70% of new databases on its platform are created by agents or AI-driven tools.

The company said existing users will see no changes. Supabase will continue building around Postgres, while Turso will continue working on SQLite.
