Stripe adds Singapore payment tools for global sales
Stripe said on August 25 that it is adding payments and money management tools in Singapore to help Asian businesses expand globally, 10 years after launching in Asia in Singapore.
The rollout includes Stripe Managed Payments for digital sales in 195 countries, including the ability to sell in dozens of markets without setting up a local entity.
It also adds support for Samsung Pay, GCash, PromptPay, MoMo, Touch ’n Go, and TrueMoney.
From Q4, Stripe said it would enable ShopeePay and SPayLater across Southeast Asia, where local payment methods matter for ecommerce and credit card use remains relatively low.
Stripe said more than 80,000 businesses and solopreneurs in Singapore use its platform, and more than six in 10 sell internationally.
The company said Singapore businesses can already hold balances in 10 currencies and instantly convert between them.
In early 2027, Stripe plans to bring the full Stripe Treasury experience to Singapore, including the ability to spend from those balances and pay recipients in nearly 100 countries.
