Stellaris leads $3m seed round in Indian voice AI firm Arrowhead

Arrowhead, a voice AI platform based in India, has raised US$3 million in a seed round led by Stellaris Venture Partners.

The round also saw participation from several angel investors, including founders and executives from CRED, M2P, Turtlemint, and Kissht.

Arrowhead develops AI bots to automate sales conversations for financial institutions such as banks, NBFCs, and fintechs.

The company said the new funding will be used to improve its AI models and grow its technology and sales teams.

Arrowhead claims its voice AI bots can conduct sales calls of up to 20 minutes and achieve higher conversion rates than human agents.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) spam rules raise risk for AI voice sales at scale

  • TRAI now levies penalties up to Indian rupees (INR) 1 million for repeat spam violations and can suspend service 1
  • Providers must analyze call patterns using volume, duration, and ratios 1. They must resolve complaints within five days 1
  • Arrowhead’s AI bots handle calls up to 20 minutes and serve over 50 customers across India and Southeast Asia, but it has not shared call volumes or pattern monitoring 2
  • Bharti Airtel, a large Indian telecom operator, said its AI flagged 8 billion spam calls in 2.5 months 1. That scale raises mislabel risk for high-volume AI sales, including banking or fintech

Third-party compliance tooling for AI voice sales across India and Southeast Asia (SEA)

  • Banking and fintech use of voice AI is rising 3. Providers with financial-services clients need tools for the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s Do Not Disturb (DND) rules, consent capture, and audit trails 3
  • Current rules require standardized SMS suffixes and opt-out options 1, but voice AI adds complexity around real-time consent and call classification that telecom systems miss
  • Vendors can build QA and compliance layers for Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) scrubbing and mis-selling detection. Add sentiment checks plus automated DND and Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) compliance. The same stack fits Southeast Asia (SEA) markets such as Malaysia
