Stellantis stock drops 43% over five years

Stellantis, formed in 2021 through a US$52 billion merger of Fiat Chrysler and Groupe PSA, has seen its US stock drop about 43% over five years, while shares in Italy are down around 40%.

The company’s stock initially rose after the merger, reaching a 74% rise in March 2024, but faced a downturn following weaker financial results and cost-cutting measures.

Stellantis’ new CEO, Antonio Filosa, who took over last summer, is implementing a restructuring plan that emphasizes its Jeep and Ram brands in the US market.

The previous CEO, Carlos Tavares, who was instrumental in the merger, left the company in December 2024.

The company’s stock performance and strategic adjustments reflect ongoing challenges since its formation.
