StashAway buys digital wills startup MakeGoodwill
Singapore-based digital investment platform StashAway said on August 26 that it had acquired MakeGoodwill, a Singapore digital wills platform, for an undisclosed sum in its first move into legacy planning.
The deal is complete, and MakeGoodwill will continue operating as a standalone brand, open to people who do not use StashAway.
StashAway cited a YouGov study showing that only 22% of Singaporeans have a legally drafted will.
In a separate March 2026 survey of 125 StashAway clients, the company found that three in four did not have a will.
MakeGoodwill said more than 1,100 wills have been created on its platform.
Users can create a will online in about an hour, then print and sign it in the presence of two independent witnesses.
That process broadly matches Singapore rules, under which a will must be in writing and signed, with at least two witnesses present at the same time.
StashAway said MakeGoodwill charges S$179 (US$140) for the service, compared with S$500 (US$390) to S$1,500 (US$1,200) at traditional law firms.
