Standard Chartered, ASTAR launch $12m AI banking lab
Standard Chartered and Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research have announced a three-year partnership and a joint S$15 million (US$11.8 million) investment to set up an AI for Banking Innovation Lab for the financial industry.
The lab will bring together Astar’s Institute of High Performance Computing scientists and Standard Chartered’s data and AI teams to work on fraud detection, and natural language processing, including a tool that lets relationship managers query databases without coding.
The partnership expands earlier work between Astar IHPC and SC Ventures on using AI for regulatory compliance.
