Daniel Ek, CEO of Spotify, has led a €600 million (US$648 million) investment round in Helsing, a defense technology company based in Munich.

The funding, conducted through Ek’s investment firm Prima Materia, values Helsing at €12 billion (US$13 billion).

Established four years ago, Helsing focuses on AI-driven solutions for defense operations.

Its software combines data from military sensors, radars, and weapons systems to offer real-time battlefield visualizations.

The company is also developing strike drones, aircraft, and unmanned mini submarines for naval surveillance.

Other participants in the funding round include Accel, Lightspeed Ventures, Plural, General Catalyst, Saab, and new investor BDT & MSD Partners.
