US spacetech startup Rendezvous Robotics nets $3m pre-seed round

Rendezvous Robotics, a US-based startup, has raised US$3 million in pre-seed funding led by Aurelia Foundry and 8090 Industries to develop modular tiles for autonomous space assembly.

Founded in late 2024 and headquartered near Denver, the company is commercializing “tesserae,” flat-packed tiles designed to magnetically connect and reconfigure in orbit.

Each tile contains its own processor, sensors, and battery, and the system is intended to allow structures to be rearranged or upgraded remotely.

Rendezvous Robotics plans to conduct another ISS demo in early 2026 and a mission outside the ISS by late 2026 or early 2027.

The funding will be used to expand the team and move the technology from prototype to operational use in space missions requiring large structures, such as antennas and solar arrays.
