South Korea’s top farm equipment makers form AI consortiums

Daedong, TYM, and LS Mtron, three of South Korea’s largest agricultural equipment makers, have each formed new consortiums to develop AI-powered farming machines.

These efforts come as Korea faces an aging rural population and a shortage of farm labor.

Earlier this month, Daedong Group affiliates partnered with local AI and robotics companies to advance field robots and smart agricultural technology.

The consortium plans to enhance AI features such as robot arms and hands, as well as voice recognition and autonomous driving for farming machines.
