South Korea’s Doosan Robotics posts Q2 loss as sales jump
South Korea’s Doosan Robotics, a maker of collaborative robots, said in a regulatory filing that it posted a second-quarter net loss of 12.8 billion won (US$8.7 million), remaining in the red from a year earlier.
Its operating loss for April to June narrowed to 14.4 billion won (US$9.79 million) from 15.7 billion won (US$10.7 million), while sales jumped 290% to 17.7 billion won (US$12 million).
The company did not say what drove the sales increase.
Recent developments included a memorandum of understanding to supply more than 100 manufacturing robot solutions to Kwangjin Group through 2027,
The company also signed another memorandum to deliver 300 units in Southeast Asia over two years, though it is unclear how much either deal contributed to second-quarter sales.
Doosan Robotics has previously said it is the top supplier in South Korea’s collaborative robot market and the fourth-largest global player excluding China.
