South Korea’s semiconductor exports to China dropped by 31.8% in February 2025 compared to the same month last year, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

This decline raises concerns about weakening global demand and increased United States restrictions on technology exports to China.

The recent drop is more significant than the 22.5% decrease reported in January.

This downturn follows a recovery in 2024 that had previously boosted South Korea’s economic growth.

The decline correlates with new US export controls aimed at restricting China’s access to advanced semiconductor technologies.
