South Korean province signs $35b AI data center deal

Governor Kim Yung-Rok of South Korea’s Jeollanam-do Province has signed a US$35 billion AI data center agreement with Fir Hills Inc., a subsidiary of Stock Farm Road, Inc. (SFR).

This agreement was signed in Santa Clara, California, which formalizes the collaboration between Fir Hills Inc., the Jeollanam-do Provincial Government, local municipalities, and the landowner.

Construction of the AI data center, which will have a capacity of 3 gigawatts, is set to begin in winter 2025. It is projected to create 10,000 jobs in the province.
