South Korea plans 10,000 GPUs for AI center by 2025

The South Korean government plans to acquire 10,000 high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs) in 2025 to establish a national AI computing center.

This announcement was made by Acting President Choi Sang-mok during a government-private sector meeting aimed at enhancing South Korea’s role in the global AI arena.

Currently, South Korea has about 2,000 GPUs, which are critical for AI development and training.

The government plans to obtain GPUs, including Nvidia’s H100 and H200 models, to bolster its large-scale AI infrastructure.
