Solar irrigation startup Agros nets $4.25m series A
Agros, a Southeast Asian company focused on solar-powered irrigation, has secured US$4.25 million in its series A funding round.
The round was co-led by Gaia Impact, Schneider Electric Energy Access Asia, and Wavemaker Impact, with contributions from new investor Global Innovation Fund (GIF) and existing investors like Silverstrand Capital and angel investor Steve Melhuish.
The funding will enable Agros to expand its operations in Indonesia, Cambodia, and Myanmar.
It will also allow the company to accelerate product innovation and develop its digital infrastructure.
Since its inception in 2019, Agros has served over 6,000 smallholder farmers.
The company aims to partner with 30,000 farmers by 2027, targeting a collective income increase of US$40 million and a reduction of 1 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
