Solar financing platform Okapi secures $2m in debt funding

Okapi Technologies has secured a debt facility of up to US$2 million, arranged by Aquila, an IoT-focused sustainable finance company operating in Southeast Asia.

The funds will promote residential solar adoption among homeowners and small businesses in Malaysia and nearby regions.

The company plans to use the new funding to support growth efforts in Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asia region.

Aquila CEO Stefano Pellegrino said that Okapi’s ability to finance engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors is essential for promoting solar adoption.
