US software startup Temporal eyes $500m at $12b valuation
US-based Temporal Technologies, which sells an open-source workflow orchestration platform, is in talks to raise around US$500 million at a pre-money valuation of at least US$12 billion, according to people familiar with the matter.
The round is not closed, and terms could still change, but it would more than double Temporal’s February valuation of US$5 billion, when it raised US$300 million in a series D round led by Andreessen Horowitz.
Temporal is led by co-founders Samar Abbas, its CEO, and Maxim Fateev, its CTO.
The company previously reached a US$2.5 billion valuation in a secondary round that came months after a US$146 million series C round at a US$1.72 billion valuation.
Temporal has publicly said OpenAI uses its platform for some complex, long-running systems.
The original report also said OpenAI was Temporal’s biggest customer and named Replit and Abridge among other customers, citing people familiar with the matter.
Across the market, vendors such as UiPath and HCLSoftware are describing orchestration tools as a way to manage long-running agentic AI workflows.
