US software firm Boomi acquires Israeli data startup for $45m

Boomi, a US software company that helps businesses connect applications, data, and systems, has acquired Israeli data observability startup Elementary Data in a cash-and-stock deal valued at about US$40 million to US$45 million.

The acquisition adds tools for monitoring data quality, governance, and reliability as companies deploy more AI systems and agents.

Elementary develops software that helps data teams find problems before they affect business reports, models, or automated workflows.

Boomi said adding Elementary’s technology to its platform will expand how customers monitor data quality and governance across their organizations.

Boomi said Elementary’s product and its open-source “elementary” project will continue after the deal for existing customers.

Elementary had raised US$8.5 million by the end of 2022. Its 17 employees, all based in Israel, will join Boomi.
