SoftBank, Nvidia said to seek Skild AI investment at $14b valuation
SoftBank and Nvidia are in discussions to invest in Skild AI at a valuation of about US$14 billion, according to sources and a term sheet reviewed by Reuters.
Skild AI, a startup developing AI models for robots, is seeking to raise over US$1 billion in this funding round.
The potential deal would nearly triple Skild AI’s valuation from US$4.7 billion earlier this year, when it raised US$500 million.
Skild AI was founded in 2023 by former Meta AI researchers and is backed by Amazon, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Khosla Ventures.
The company creates software that enables robots to operate across different tasks and environments, but does not build its own hardware.
The deal is expected to close before Christmas, but details may change, a source said.
