Following TikTok’s recent US ownership restructuring finalized last January 22, the social app UpScrolled has seen a surge in downloads.

Appfigures data shows about 41,000 downloads between January 22 and 24, a 2,850% jump from previous days, bringing total installs to around 140,000.

The spike came after TikTok announced a joint venture with US investors including Oracle, Silver Lake, and MGX, raising concerns over political influence, content censorship, and privacy changes.

Some users turned to alternatives like UpScrolled, while another TikTok rival, Skylight, reported growth with more than 380,000 sign-ups.
