US-based cloud platform Snowflake has partnered with FutureSkills Prime, a digital skilling initiative backed by the Indian government, to train over 100,000 students and professionals in data and AI skills over the next two years.

Snowflake’s entry-level training courses will be available on the platform, connecting with over 2,100 educational institutions through Nasscom’s Academia network.

The initiative targets undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as working professionals.

The training will include six free learning modules focused on data-related roles, with certifications jointly issued by Nasscom and Snowflake.

The courses will align with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and may be integrated into university curricula under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

This effort comes as the Indian government boosts AI adoption and workforce upskilling, including the 10,300 crore rupee (US$1.2 billion) IndiaAI Mission and the upcoming Centre of Excellence in AI.
