Snap will not need to raise funds to launch its upcoming Specs augmented reality glasses in 2026, CEO Evan Spiegel said at the Axios Media Trends Live event.

Spiegel added that the company could still consider funding options if it wants to speed up its expansion.

Snap, which operates the Snapchat app and develops AR hardware, is preparing to compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, which recently launched a new model.

Earlier reports had suggested Snap was considering raising money to support the Specs launch.
