Slack adds Salesforce AI features for enterprise teams
Slack has announced new integrations with Salesforce, adding features for sales, IT, HR, and analytics teams that enable users to interact with CRM data and agents directly within Slack.
The updates were revealed at Dreamforce 2025 and include AI-powered tools such as a rebuilt Slackbot and a Channel Expert agent, designed to provide automated responses and access company knowledge in Slack channels.
The company has expanded its platform with a real-time search API and model context protocol server, enabling partners like OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and others to build intelligent agents that operate natively inside Slack.
Salesforce experiences, including Agentforce Sales, IT Service, HR Service, and Tableau, are now available in Slack, allowing users to manage customer records, access IT support, handle HR inquiries, and view dashboards without leaving the app.
Slack also introduced enhancements to its enterprise search, with new APIs and connectors for services like Gmail, Outlook, Dropbox, and Notion expected soon.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
What’s missing on deployment and costs
- Teams do not know which Slack editions are needed, such as Pro, Business+ or Enterprise+ Slack subscription tiers. That applies to Agentforce Sales, IT, and HR Service integrations. Pricing beyond current plans is unclear, as is the date for general availability 1.
- A rebuilt Slackbot and Channel Expert are pitched as a shift 23. The workspace or Enterprise organization must connect to Salesforce and have Agentforce enabled. Channel Expert comes with Agentforce for Slack. Guidance on retention plus access controls is thin, handling of prompts or responses is unclear, with no pilot path before rollout 1.
- RTS API and the Model Context Protocol server are in closed beta, with general availability in early 2026 4. Slack plans a custom API for enterprise search to reach internal and on‑premise systems with secure access 1. Details on integration effort, compliance needs, and third‑party licensing for agents from OpenAI or Anthropic remain open 1.
Opportunity to build governance and observability for Slack agents
- New vendors can step in as teams add Channel Expert, Agentforce, and third‑party agents through RTS and MCP 4. Examples include data loss prevention for chats and audit trails 4. Also useful are policy controls for multi‑agent flows and telemetry for user trust.
- Teams will want tools that watch behavior and flag hallucinations, which are AI‑generated but incorrect statements. They should catch unauthorized data access while helping meet enterprise security rules as agents touch CRM, HR, and IT data 14.
