SK Telecom, Krafton release open-source AI models for math, coding

South Korean companies SK Telecom and Krafton have launched three open-source language models designed for tasks including mathematics and code generation.

The announcement was made on July 26, 2025.

The models, developed in collaboration, are lightweight and contain 7 billion parameters.

Krafton used a proprietary training method to improve reasoning and accuracy, while SK Telecom provided the necessary infrastructure and data validation.

The number of parameters indicates the complexity of language models, which can range from millions to trillions.

Both companies are part of a government-led initiative focused on AI foundation models, with SK Telecom leading the consortium and Krafton serving as a key contributor.
