SK hynix seeks US listing as early as August, sources say
South Korean memory chipmaker SK hynix plans a US ADR listing as soon as August, according to two people familiar with the matter.
The move is aimed at tapping investor demand for AI-linked stocks and broadening the company’s investor base.
One source said the US Securities and Exchange Commission was likely to approve SK Hynix’s application during the week of June 22.
SK Hynix said only that it plans to issue ADRs in 2026 and has not decided the size or timing.
In March it had confidentially filed for a US listing, and a source cited at the time said the deal could raise up to US$14 billion.
ADRs are US bank-issued certificates that let investors trade in dollars on US markets without changing a company’s home-market listing.
The structure can also help reduce trading friction for US investors and some index-based strategies, supporting SK Hynix’s goal of broadening ownership.
