SK Hynix posts record Q4 profit on strong AI memory demand
SK Hynix reported its highest quarterly operating profit of 19.2 trillion won (US$13.5 billion) in the December quarter, driven by strong demand for AI memory.
Revenue reached 32.8 trillion won (US$23 billion), surpassing analyst estimates.
The company’s demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM), especially HBM3E used by Nvidia and cloud providers, has contributed to its performance.
SK Hynix is the exclusive supplier of HBM3E for Microsoft’s AI accelerator, Maia 200, and is working to certify next-generation HBM4.
Industry analysts expect the high-bandwidth memory market to grow at about 25% annually through 2030, supported by development of HBM4 and strong Nvidia agreements.
