SK hynix leads US IPO proceeds with $26.5b listing
Initial public offerings on US exchanges raised US$36.1 billion in the quarter ended September 30.
South Korean memory chipmaker SK hynix accounted for US$26.5 billion through its recent US listing of American depositary receipts.
The period was the second-busiest for US IPO proceeds since 2021, behind only the second quarter.
But issuance slowed in September as investors stayed selective despite record-high stock indexes.
Among the delayed deals was Oura, a Finland-based maker of health and wellness smart rings, which delayed its US IPO on Sept. 29 amid broader market jitters.
This year’s US IPO class is up 8.8% on a weighted-average basis, supported by the biggest listings.
Investors are now watching Anthropic’s expected IPO, reported in September to have shifted to November, for signs that demand can extend beyond a small group of large AI-related deals.
