SK hynix hits $46b revenue on AI-driven chip demand
SK hynix reported annual revenue of 66.19 trillion won (US$46.06 billion) for 2024, nearly doubling its 2023 revenu of 32.77 trillion won (US$22.81 billion).
The South Korean chipmaker achieved an operating profit of 23.47 trillion won (US$16.33 billion), recovering from a loss of 7.73 trillion won (US$5.38 billion) in the previous year.
Strong demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips, essential for AI applications, drove this performance. HBM memory accounted for over 40% of SK hynix’s DRAM revenue in 2024.
The company expects HBM sales to more than double in 2025 and plans to begin mass production of 12-layer HBM4 chips by the end of the year.
SK hynix emphasized its focus on high-value memory products and its collaboration with TSMC to sustain growth, despite competition from Samsung and Micron.
