Siri gets smarter with Apple’s new ChatGPT-powered features

Apple has launched a beta version of its new Apple Intelligence features, integrating capabilities with ChatGPT.

This version is currently available to software developers with iOS 18.2, released on Wednesday.

The new AI features target recent iPhone models to encourage consumer upgrades. The official public release is expected next week with the iOS 18.1 update.

Among the beta features, users can specify how text should be rewritten.

Tools like Genmoji for emojis, Image Playground for image generation, and Image Wand for photo editing are included.

Apple’s ChatGPT integration aids in handling complex questions that Siri may find challenging.

Siri can prompt users to opt for ChatGPT when needed, without requiring an OpenAI account. ChatGPT will also feature in Apple’s Visual Intelligence for text and object recognition through the phone’s camera.
