Singtel secures AI funding under Singapore partnership

Singtel Singapore will receive up to S$28 million (US$21.8 million) in first-phase funding under a multi-year AI partnership with Digital Industry Singapore (DISG).

Singtel said the program will cover AI-enabled operations, digital infrastructure, customer platforms, and workforce development.

The funding will support AI hiring and talent development.

It will also be used for governance frameworks, and advisory and implementation expertise for AI deployment at scale.

Singtel said it has already trained about 13,000 employees in Singapore.

The company aims to train all Singapore-based employees in AI.

DISG was set up in 2019 and has supported more than 50 companies launching AI centers of excellence.

The partnership aligns with Singapore’s National AI Strategy, which prioritizes industry adoption, compute, and trust.
