Singtel Innov8 joins $145m round for Chinese humanoid robot firm
Robotera, a Chinese humanoid robotics company, said it raised 1 billion yuan (around US$145.3 million) in a strategic round that valued it at over ten times the investment value.
The company said new investors included Gaocheng Capital, Singtel Innov8, and Woori Venture Partners.
Robotera also named CICC Porsche Fund, China Fortune-Tech Capital, and Fenghe Capital as its investors.
The firm said the round followed another financing two months earlier and that its investor base now includes 16 industrial backers such as Geely Capital, Alibaba, and Lenovo.
Robotera said it has more than 500 million yuan (around US$72.7 million) in cumulative orders and will use the funds to accelerate technology iteration and scale products for ecommerce logistics, industrial manufacturing, and pharmaceutical distribution.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Funding follows a product lineup already shipping
- ROBOTERA is selling a product range that includes the L7 full-size humanoid robot, the Q5 wheeled humanoid robot, and the XHAND1 dexterous hand 1.
- ROBOTERA has delivered more than 600 units worldwide for retail and logistics use cases 2.
- ROBOTERA says nine of the world’s top 10 publicly listed tech companies have placed orders, with some customers buying up to six times 3.
- ROBOTERA also points to a cross-border logistics inspection solution built with SF Express (a major Chinese delivery and logistics company) that is deployed at customs, with single orders above RMB 50 million 3.
Selling parts first to bring humanoids to market
- ROBOTERA is trying to commercialize humanoid robotics by selling high-value components on their own, rather than only as part of a full robot 3.
- XHAND1 is positioned as a standalone product, with more than 1,000 units shipped in 2025 and 50% sold to overseas markets 3.
- ROBOTERA says XHAND1 is used by Skild AI (a robotics software startup), Extend Robotics (a robotics developer), and MIT (the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) 1.
- This parts-first route can bring earlier revenue plus real-world feedback, which may lower risk while ROBOTERA works toward broader humanoid deployments.
