Singapore’s IMDA announces agentic AI testing kit, safety push
Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) on October 14 announced three AI safety initiatives: a starter kit to test agentic AI systems, an AI tester accreditation program, and a task force on AI-enabled cyber threats.
AI Verify Foundation, a Singapore-based nonprofit wholly owned by IMDA that develops AI governance testing tools, launched the AI Tester Accreditation Programme.
The first five accredited firms are AIDX Tech, Knovel Engineering, PwC Singapore, Resaro, and Vulcan. Each accreditation lasts one year.
The starter kit outlines four steps to test agentic AI systems: identifying risks, designing tests, running tests and analyzing logs, and continuously monitoring and retesting systems.
It extends an earlier kit for testing large language model-based applications and builds on Singapore’s Model AI Governance Framework for Agentic AI.
IMDA said the task force includes more than 20 leaders and experts from telecommunications, media, cybersecurity, and AI.
The group will publish a report in the first half of 2027 with guidelines and best practices to strengthen the infocomm and media sector’s cyber defenses against AI-driven threats.
