Jonathan Liem said he and Jeremy Soo are shutting down Nex AI after about three years. He said the founders were exhausted, and he no longer wanted to spend the next decade building enterprise data infrastructure.

Liem said Nex AI went through several product iterations and eventually signed its first seven-figure enterprise contract. By then, he had already decided to shut down the company.

Founded in 2023, Nex AI changed its product focus over time. An article published in 2024 described the startup as a tool for managing unstructured data.

Liem did not publicly detail what the shutdown means for customer contracts, customer data, or support.
