Singaporeans exempt from new $100k H-1B visa fee: US Embassy
Singaporeans applying for the H-1B1 visa to work in the US will not be subject to the new US$100,000 fee imposed on the H-1B visa.
The US Embassy in Singapore confirmed there is no change to the H-1B1 process as of September 29.
The H-1B1 visa is available only to citizens of Singapore and Chile for one-year terms and does not provide a path to permanent residency.
Applicants must show they do not plan to immigrate permanently.
The annual cap is 5,400 for Singaporeans and 1,400 for Chileans.
