Singapore warns banks on AI-driven cyber risks
Monetary Authority of Singapore said it is working with the Cyber Security Agency to help banks and other critical infrastructure operators strengthen defenses, as concerns over Anthropic’s limited-release AI model Mythos spread to Asia.
MAS said financial institutions should close vulnerabilities, patch systems quickly, and tighten cyber hygiene.
The cyber agency also warned that advanced AI could aid the discovery and exploitation of security weaknesses.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell also met Wall Street bank leaders this month, after Anthropic held back a wider release of Mythos over its ability to find long-undetected bugs.
