Singapore physical AI startup Ropedia raises $22m
Ropedia, a Singapore-based startup building data infrastructure for physical AI, said on July 23 that it raised a US$22 million pre-series A round, bringing its total funding to US$30 million.
The company plans to use the money to expand data collection in Southeast Asia and North America, grow its Singapore and US teams, and increase manufacturing of its wearable capture hardware.
Founded in 2025, Ropedia builds wearable hardware and software that collect video, depth, motion, and audio data for robotics and embodied AI training.
The company said the new funding will also support annotation tools, quality analytics, compliance infrastructure, and AI research.
Ropedia said it captures and processes first-person human experience data through hardware, data processing, and model-oriented systems.
The startup said its collaborators and early partners include teams building embodied agents, robotic systems, and world models.
Industry overviews describe egocentric datasets as aligning video, depth, motion, and audio from the same viewpoint a robot would operate in. This can help embodied AI and vision-language-action models learn in real-world settings.
The press release did not name the new investors, although Ropedia said earlier backers included investors and angel investors connected to Google, a16z, Nvidia, and Amazon.
Co-founder Ziwei Liu’s Nanyang Technological University profile cites more than 50 papers across computer vision, graphics, machine learning, and robotics.
