Singapore has ranked first globally in cryptocurrency adoption, overtaking the United States, according to Bybit’s 2025 World Crypto Rankings report released on December 10, 2025.

Bybit, a cryptocurrency exchange, developed the report with DL Research, analyzing 79 countries using 28 metrics and 92 data points.

Vietnam and Hong Kong also placed in the top ten, highlighting the Asia-Pacific region’s growing role in the sector.

The report found over 11% of Singapore’s population holds cryptocurrency, while Vietnam’s adoption is driven by remittance and savings needs.

Hong Kong’s ranking reflects increased retail participation and recent regulatory changes.

The United States leads on “institutional readiness,” while the Philippines and Australia also made the global top ten in this area.

Other trends identified include a rise in real-world asset tokenization, growth of local stablecoins, and broader adoption of cryptocurrency payrolls — especially in countries such as the Philippines, where nearly 10% of professionals now receive part of their salary in cryptocurrency.
