BandLab Technologies, a Singapore-based music technology company, has named president Ivan Chen CEO, effective October 1. Co-founder Meng Ru Kuok will become executive chairman.

Chen, who previously served as COO and president, will lead day-to-day operations. Kuok will remain involved at BandLab and continue as group CEO of parent company Caldecott Music Group.

The leadership change comes after BandLab’s music-making app surpassed 100 million registered users as of March 2024. The company was also reorganized under Caldecott Music Group in 2021.

BandLab raised US$25 million in 2023 and offers AI tools on its music-creation platform.
