Singapore to launch AI, tech visa track with $23k income rule
Singapore will introduce a new visa track in January 2027 to attract top talent in AI and emerging technologies under the Overseas Networks and Expertise (ONE) Pass., Manpower Minister Tan See Leng said in Parliament.
The track will replace the Tech.Pass and requires applicants to have earned at least a fixed monthly salary of S$22,500 (US$17,000) plus vested non-cash pay, such as employee stock options, to meet a S$30,000 (US$23,478) monthly threshold in the past year.
Applicants must have at least five cumulative years in founder, C-suite, or senior technical roles within the past ten years, with their current or last role at a tech company, tech division, or tech venture capital firm.
Eligible firms must meet at least one threshold: a valuation or market cap of at least US$500 million, annual revenue of at least US$200 million, assets under management of at least US$500 million, or, for tech companies, at least US$30 million in funding raised.
Tech.Pass, launched in 2021, was valid for two years with one renewal if renewal criteria were met, while the ONE Pass is valid for five years and renewable for five years each time.
