Singapore to invest $173m in fintech over 3 years
Singapore will commit S$220 million (US$173 million) over three years under its Financial Sector Technology and Innovation 4.0 scheme, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the country’s central bank and financial regulator, said on August 31.
The funding will support fintech innovation, technology adoption, infrastructure, and talent development in the financial sector.
The program has six tracks covering internships, projects by Singapore-based financial institutions and fintech firms, and the adoption of AI solutions.
It also includes shared industry infrastructure and platforms, centers of excellence, and awards and grants tied to the Singapore FinTech Festival.
MAS said Singapore has more than 1,800 fintech firms that employ close to 10,000 professionals, while fintech investments in the country reached S$2.9 billion (US$2.28 billion) in 2025.
The regulator said it aims to support at least 1,000 internships over the next three years.
Singapore’s fintech sector has faced shortages and seen strong demand for qualified talent.
