Singapore military taps Oracle for secure cloud upgrade
Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) has signed a contract with Oracle to implement an Oracle Cloud Isolated Region for the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).
Announced on Mar. 18, this air-gapped cloud infrastructure will support data management, computing, and AI applications, enhancing SAF’s Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) capabilities.
The secure cloud platform, operated by MINDEF’s Digital and Intelligence Service, will enable AI integration for military use.
Completely isolated from the public internet, Oracle’s infrastructure ensures high security and scalability.
DSTA chief executive Ng Chad-Son emphasized the importance of advanced cloud and AI technologies for operational transformation, while Oracle highlighted its expertise in managing sensitive government data.
The Oracle Cloud Isolated Region provides the same capabilities as its public cloud but is tailored for secure, mission-critical environments.
