Singapore data center operator DayOne explores $500m bond

DayOne Data Centers, a Singapore-based data center operator, has held preliminary talks with banks for weeks about a potential US$500 million bond sale, according to people familiar with the matter.

The company filed for an initial public offering in the US this week and has considered raising about US$5 billion.

Citigroup is the lead arranger, and the bond sale could come as early as next year, despite project partner Firmus Grid dropping its planned Australian listing.

The bond proceeds would fund unspecified projects, the people said.

DayOne and Firmus have been reported to co-develop a 360-megawatt Nvidia AI factory in Batam, Indonesia.

DayOne, formerly GDS International, said in June that it had closed a US$4.5 billion series C equity financing.
