Singapore contech startup OnSite raises $1.3m seed
Singapore construction software startup OnSite has raised S$1.7 million (US$1.32 million) in a seed round led by Tin Men Capital to expand its product in Southeast Asia.
The raise comes as Singapore’s S$53 billion (US$41.54 billion) construction industry remains one of its least digitizes sectors, with many contractors still relying on WhatsApp, phone calls, and paper-based documentation.
OnSite builds communication and documentation software for construction firms and its platform helps site workers send voice or text messages across languages while keeping records for disputes.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Tin Men Capital is building a portfolio of construction technology companies
- Tin Men Capital put money into OnSite as part of a plan to support business-to-business (B2B) software startups that bring digital tools to traditional industries 1.
- Its holdings include Ailytics and Hubble, two construction technology companies that work on operational safety and productivity 1.
- The same approach reaches other heavy industries through Groundup.ai, which develops AI software for machine maintenance and workplace safety 2.
AI investment in construction is driven by real-world pressures
- OnSite’s funding fits a wider venture capital push into construction, an industry worth more than US$10 trillion a year. That equals 13% of world gross domestic product, while productivity has declined over the past 40 years 3.
- Stricter safety regulations and rising labor costs are adding pressure. Technology that improves efficiency and supports compliance helps construction companies stay competitive 3.
- Startups around the world are using more advanced AI to tackle these problems. Ailytics develops video analytics software based on large vision models. Brickanta is building an AI platform for pre-construction workflows, the planning and coordination work done before building begins 45.
