Singapore AI caregiving startup Hello Ello expands to Malaysia
Singapore-based AI caregiving company, Hello Ello, launched its services in Malaysia on June 8 as it expands into a growing eldercare market alongside its home market of Singapore.
The company system can detect falls, fainting, wandering, smoke, and signs of distress, sending alerts to family members through its app.
The expansion comes as Singapore and Malaysia face rapidly ageing populations. People aged 65 and above accounted for 20.7% of Singapore’s citizen population in 2025, while the figure in Malaysia reached 8%.
Hello Ello said its main users are adult children caring for ageing parents while balancing work and family responsibilities.
In Singapore, care for older adults still relies mainly on informal family caregivers, alongside a policy push for ageing in place.
The company positions its offering as alternative to traditional monitoring tools such as wearables and emergency buttons, which require active participation from older adults.
