The Asia Biologicals Platform, an initiative convened by Singapore-based agrifood network Agrifood Futures, said on September 22 that it is developing its first crop deployment programs in Southeast Asia for agricultural biologicals in rice, cassava, and cocoa.

The platform said it chose the crops to generate comparable evidence across different production environments and markets.

The International Rice Research Institute and CABI are serving as scientific and institutional partners.

Thai Wah Public Company Limited, Mars, and Salim Agrochemicals Division are participating as crop deployment partners in the initial programs.

Agrifood Futures said the work builds on the inaugural Asia Biologicals Symposium, developed with Wharf42 in November 2025.

The event helped shape the platform’s priorities and drew more than 120 participants.

The group said it is seeking additional partners for future crop programs.

The Asia Biologicals Summit 2026 is scheduled for October 26 at CHIJMES in Singapore.
